FAQs
+ What is coaching?
Coaching is all about forward movement, resonance and being active in your choices. Coaching removes self-limiting beliefs, it enables you to be courageous, to try out new things. It enables you to step into the place you’ve always wanted to but never believed you could. But Coaching is so much more than that. It identifies the places you are stuck, it holds a mirror up to who you are so you can see your greatness, it works to increase your confidence. And the tangible outcomes of all of that are success in life and work, bigger careers, happier lifestyles, inner peace and balance, powerful drive and ambition.
An executive coach is a qualified professional that works with individuals (usually executives/leaders, but also would-be leaders) to help them gain self-awareness, clarify goals, achieve their development objectives, unlock their potential, and act as a sounding board.
+ Who should hire a coach?
People come to coaching for so many reasons. It could be anything from wanting to increase confidence, to banishing inner critics, to helping navigate a complex boardroom, or getting a promotion. It could be learning managerial skills and techniques, or having a trusted sounding board to test ideas with.
+ How long are the sessions?
The first session is 90 minutes and the subsequent sessions are 60 minutes.
+ What happens if I need life coaching and executive coaching?
We know that you are a whole person, so when you come to coaching, we understand that life and work are often intertwined. We meet you where you are and we start from there.
+ We need some team motivation, can you help us?
Definitely. Drop us a line and tell us what your team needs and we can design some corporate coaching to help bridge any gaps that you have.
+ How is coaching different to therapy?
Therapy is a really important resource as is coaching. But they are different. Therapy is a long-term process where clients work to diagnose and resolve behaviours or issues and feelings that are difficult for them to overcome. In this sense therapy focusses on the past and on introspection.
Coaching is all about forward movement, momentum and change. Coaches are not healthcare professionals. In coaching we clarify goals and identify obstacles and problematic behaviours and where clients are stuck in order to move them towards where they want to be. A coach takes the client based on where they are now, enables them to take action to achieve their goals.
+ How much does it cost?
Please give us a call to talk money. It depends on how many sessions you book in for.
+ Does it make a difference if we work over Zoom instead of face to face?
Not at all. We are based in London UK, and we see clients from all over the world either face to face in our North London office or on Zoom.
+ Do you give company talks?
Yes, our Director Marcie Shaoul, is a great speaker and will come to your firm or event to do motivational talks with practical coaching tips on a wide range of topics.
+ Why do I need to work with a certified coach?
Because coaching is an unregulated industry and in order to make sure you are getting value for money, you need to work with coaches who are accredited to a registered body like the International Coaching Federation. Your coaches should also be insured and be certified.
+ What is the difference between corporate coaching, executive coaching, life coaching and all the other kinds of coaching?
Honestly, the basic premises are the same. The tools and techniques you will use with your coach all have their foundations in the following cornerstones;
That as a client you already know the answers
That a good coach will be able to meet you where you are and stay with you for the whole session
That a coach will challenge you and it will feel safe for you as a client to rise to that challenge
That coach and client walk the journey together
That growth of any kind is the fundamental goal
+ How long should I have coaching for?
People come to coaching for a minimum of 6-8 sessions. Usually, sessions are every ten days to two weeks. And when that block of sessions is over, many clients continue, or move to monthly sessions, or book in as and when they need a session.
+ What can I expect from a coaching session?
At Rolling Stone Coaching we tailor the coaching specifically to a client’s needs and goals. So you can expect anything from very practical tools on career progression and alignment, to more holistic visualisation tools. You can also expect to be held really safely, so your coach can challenge you, speak truthfully to you and help you be the best version of yourself.
+ Do you do group coaching sessions?
Yes. We come into firms to do group coaching and we are trained in ORSC methods of group coaching. We also can host group coaching sessions in a central London location.
+ How does coaching work?
Coaching works through a combination of things including using specific techniques that enable a client to see clearly the limiting behaviours that are preventing them from reaching their goals. When we can identify these behaviours and name them, it becomes easier to use tools to help us move away from them.
